Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness and 50% of Australians with glaucoma are undiagnosed. Early detection and regular monitoring are crucial to prevent vision loss. Because glaucoma is irreversible, waiting to lose vision is too late!

At Gardens Optometry, our optometrists perform a complete eye exam for glaucoma, which includes:

  • Measuring Eye Pressure

  • Testing Peripheral Vision

  • Examining the Optic Nerve

  • Measuring Corneal Thickness

  • Checking the Drainage Angle

If glaucoma is found, we will create a personalized management plan, which may involve monitoring, medication, and the option of ophthalmology referral.

Regular eye exams are important, particularly for those at higher risk, such as people with a family history of glaucoma, older adults, and those with certain health conditions.
